Q: What types of products does Vista Frames offer?
A: Vista Frames prides itself on being able to offer a wide range of double-glazing products, both in uPVC & Aluminium. We choose to use products we feel offer the best quality available. We fabricate our own uPVC frames for windows & doors using the Veka system, for Aluminium we use the Reynaers system, which is the system of choice for Architects & builders.
We also offer a wide range of other products; Sliding sash windows, The Residence Collection (widely used for conservation areas), composite doors (Solidor &Hallmark), lantern roofs, bi-folding doors, lift & slide patio doors, flush windows, stable doors.
Q: Why should I choose double glazing for my home?
A: Most homes already have some double glazing fitted but replacing older double glazing whether it be wooden, uPVC, or Aluminium with new products will greatly improve the feeling of warmth in your home, improve its thermal performance, and help to reduce fuel bills. Double glazing products have improved greatly over the last few years in terms of improved security, and thermal efficiency especially as the type of glass that is now used must comply with building regulations to achieve a minimum thermal performance (U-value).
Q: Can I visit a showroom to see the products?
A: Absolutely! We welcome you to visit our showroom in Hull, where you can explore our extensive range of products and speak with our experts for personalised advice.
We are open Monday -Friday 9.00am – 4.00pm
Q: How does the installation process work?
A: This begins with us discussing your requirements and sending you a quotation, once you have decided you would like to go ahead with the work and the survey has been carried out. We schedule the production or ordering of products.
Once your products are completed, we then schedule a convenient time for installation, which is carried out by our team of skilled and experienced professionals, ensuring minimal disruption and top-quality workmanship.
Q: Are there custom design options available?
A: Yes, we offer a wide range of bespoke design options to suit your specific requirements and aesthetic preferences. From different styles, colours, sizes, and finishes, we can tailor our products to match your vision.
Q: What warranties or guarantees do you offer?
A: We provide warranties on all our products and workmanship, ensuring peace of mind and long-term satisfaction. Specific warranty details vary by product and brand, so please contact us for more information.
Q: Can Vista Frames do supply only?
A: Yes, we can supply straight to the homeowner or the person, builder, etc., who will be installing. We also supply to trade & commercial customers.
Please note that if we are supplying only, then we do not come out to survey, you or the person who will be fitting the products will need to survey.
Q: Will I need to pay a deposit?
A: You may be required to pay a deposit depending on the project scale before we start to process your order, which is after you have confirmed to us that you would like to go ahead with the works and the survey & contract forms have been completed.
Q: How long does it take to install new windows or doors?
A: The time required for installation varies depending on the project's scale and complexity. We strive to complete installations efficiently without compromising on quality. Typically, a standard window or door can be installed within a day. Timescales from initial enquiry to installation vary depending on project scale & complexity but we usually can give customers an idea of this during consultation and quotation stages.
Q: Do I need planning permission to Replace my Double Glazing?
A: For straightforward replacement windows & doors in domestic homes, you are required to register the new installations with your local Council, Authority. However, if you use a company that is registered with either CERTASS or FENSA, they will register the installation on your behalf. You will then receive a certificate to state the installation has been registered and therefore complies with the building regulation requirements at that time.
Vista Frames are registered with the CERTASS scheme & on completion of installations of replacement windows & doors we will register on your behalf. Please note that conservatories, and outbuildings such as garages do not fall under this scheme. It is always best to check whether you need planning permission as it is the homeowners’ responsibility, before works commence.
Q: How do I maintain my double glazed windows and doors?
A: Double-glazed windows and doors are low maintenance. Regular cleaning with mild soap and water, along with periodic checks of seals and moving parts, is usually sufficient. We provide detailed maintenance guidelines with every installation.
